Day 4: Wednesday, May 6. Isla Roatan, Honduras.

Today we woke up ready for an exciting day in Honduras. We got ready, then went up to the deck for breakfast. We could see Honduras not too far in the distance, but the ship had stopped moving…hmmm interesting. The cruise director (named Big Tex) got on the PA system and said that they were having protests, demonstrations, and other civil unrest on Roatan Island so we weren’t going ashore quite yet. We didn’t really think anything of it, and just kept eating breakfast. He got back on the PA system about 30 minutes later and said that they talked to the local authorities, who said the protests have only gotten worse, so they made the decision that it wasn’t safe for us to go ashore. NO! We were so disappointed. We got over it, and just had another relaxing day in the sun. Not much to report for today.
